The PSUSB_28xi Modular USB Interface box is designed to allow use of up to 4 of our SimuWHEEL or SimuBOX devices at one time through a single USB connection. The "x" stands for Extended Mode and the "i" indicates that this device is software interfaced for set-up. The Software used for this device for interfacing is the Penguin r/c release of iFlag. This unit in Standard configuration (without set-up) will provide individual recognition of 28 different inputs.
"x" Extended Mode - When the device is placed into extended mode (by the user through iFlag) the PSUSB_28xi has the ability to have inputs for 54 individual inputs by doubling the functionality of each Button or Encoder input through the use of a single "shift" button defined within the software interface.
This "shift" button can be any attached button from any of the 4 ports and can be set-up to latch or only activate while being pressed. Latching this button allows the system to HOLD the secondary set of buttons for use until unlatched.
Multiple PSUSB's can be used on the same system allowing for many devices to be connected and scattered throughout your rig for easy access whle driving. The PSUSB_28xi has full encoder support on all ports when indicated for use through software setup and the PSB3e encoder box is used on a port. the PSB3e has 3 encoder + 1 button common button, Encoder doubling is acheived through use of the "shift" functionality.
DIY use - The PSUSB_28xi can be used as a backbone for your for DIY projects by connecting through the standard Ethernet cable connection system. To ease connections we offer the PSSSi interface module in our DIY Section. Each port on the PSUSB28xi is fully customizeable through the iFlag interface allowing encoder pairs and buttons of up to 7 inputs per connection. These inputs are fully Diode isolated so each input activation is individually registered without ghosting.
